Marketing strategies for facebook segments
Celebrity endorsers, were a key marketing strategy for Facebook to target 1 out of 4 of their user segments. Targeting their Attention seeker segment which consists of high creation, low consumption users. They found these types of users were very me, me, me glamorising themselves and their lifestyles. As they see themselves very much the same as an influencer, it is no wonder Facebook uses this tool to target them.

It’s interesting with influencers – organisations have the opportunity to get there products out to millions of people in their target markets for very little investment – a lot of influencers promote products that they use even before they were paid to do so. But how much vetting is done on an influencer before ‘hiring’ to promote specific products? What happens when your influencer becomes involved in a scandal? WIll this damage your product’s reputation along with the influencer?
